FILM

Harvard Square Movie Night | September 7

Grab your favorite movie date and head over to Harvard Square for one last movie night of the season.  Join the Harvard Square Business Association and the Harvard Coop on Palmer Street for a film treat.

Want a movie hint? A legendary musical that follows the story of a real-life actress who rose from Vaudeville to Broadway star!

Insider Tip: Bring your coziest blanket, a friend and your favorite snack to this free movie event.  The popcorn will already be there waiting for you!

FESTIVAL

Feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian | September 7-9

East Cambridge will be buzzing this weekend to celebrate the beloved feast of “The Healing Saints” Cosmas and Damian.  Be ready to eat and dance your way through the festival from Friday, September 8th to Sunday, September 10th.

Enjoy cooking demonstrations, live music, games, amusement rides, a cannoli eating contest, and a healing service. This year, the festival welcomes iconic musical acts like Chica founder Danny Seraphine and Chicago veteran lead singer Bill Champlin and The Temptations. Yes, THE Temptations will be in Cambridge!

THEATER

Bread and Puppet Theatre | September 8

If you’re looking for something fun the entire family can enjoy this weekend, look no further than a performance by the Bread & Puppet Theater.

See the award-winning theater company perform outside on the Cambridge Common Park in Harvard Square for a free (yes, free!) performance of “The Grasshopper Rebellion Circus.”

In the event of rain, you can catch the performance at the First Parish Church.

FESTIVAL

Cambridge Carnival International | September 9

Cambridge is about to become even more colorful and exciting thanks to the 26th Annual Cambridge Carnival happening this Sunday from 12-6p.

Heralded as a local institution, The Cambridge Carnival starts off with a grand costume parade complete with rich rhythmic musicality promoting all types of cultures.  You’ll watch revelers masquerade through the streets in intricate costume, savor international foods and have the unique opportunity to purchase multicultural crafts from around the world.

EAT

Baked: A Baker’s Confectionary Festival | September 9

Cambridge is definitely the place to be this weekend!  Join the Central Square Business Association at the Central Flea this Sunday for a sweet festival.  The first of its kind dessert festival will feature over fifty of the area’s top independent bakers, pastry chefs, and bakeries.  Be sure to arrive with your sweet tooth and an empty stomach, because you’ll definitely want to be able to sample everything.
