If you’re looking for the perfect Friday night plans to celebrate the weekend, look no further! This Friday evening, head over to Kendall Square’s oh-so-cool Le Laboratoire for the final concert from their music-ensemble in residence, Ecce Ensemble.
The concert will feature chamber performances of masterworks by French composer Philippe Hurel and by American composer John Aylward. The event is also a program of memorials, featuring two of Hurel's significant homage works, Pour Luigi and In Memoriam a Berio, and the world premiere of Aylward’s Angelus Novus, an homage to Lee Hyla.
And if you really want to make it a fun night, we suggest grabbing dinner at Café Artscience before the concert. And voila! Date night is planned.
See it: Concert begins at 6:30p, dinner service begins at 5p
Cambridge is full of exciting and family-friendly festivals this weekend and that includes our next event-- the 10th annual Fresh Pond Day. The annual tribute to Cambridge’s Fresh Pond Reservation celebrates the water, land, wildlife and people that help make it a vital part of our community.
Join the family-friendly festivities and enjoy live wildlife presentations, face-painting, a wildlife and bike parade, nature stories, tours and live music.
Celebrate it: Fresh Pond Reservation, 11a-3p
One of the many reasons we love Cambridge (and trust us, there are many!) is because of our unique squares. Every square has a different vibe, complete with its own personality that contributes to the heartbeat of our city. This weekend, head over to Inman Square for the first EVER Inman Eats! to see exactly why we’ve fallen head-over-heels in love with the square.
Come hungry and be prepared to dine on dishes from Inman Square restaurants, sip on local beer, listen to live music, and participate in interactive family activities. We promise this won’t be your last trip to Inman Square.
Enjoy it: Noon-4p
