Weekend Guide: May 17-20
Spend the weekend in Cambridge with our top four must-see events of the weekend including a street fair in Inman Square, donuts, a festival celebrating Grolier Poetry, and a new musical.
If you love the popular 90s artist Alanis Morissette, you’ll love the newest production from the American Repertory Theater, Jagged Little Pill.
Inspired by the themes and emotions in the Grammy-winning album, the musical is a story about empowerment, healing, and pain. The story features the picture-perfect suburban family, the Healy’s...or so it seemed. After a series of disturbing events, the family must choose to maintain the status quo or face the truth. Dispersed with Morissette’s iconic songs, this is a show that is not to be missed.
See it: Now through July 15th at the Loeb Drama Center
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the royal knot this weekend and Harvest Restaurant in Cambridge is celebrating with a donut pop-up fit for a queen.
On Saturday from 11a-2p, doughnut devotee and finalist on the Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship, Joshua Livsey (did we mention he’s also Harvest’s Executive Pastry Chef?) will be whipping up five different doughnut creations. Stop by Harvest’s patio to grab a few or stay and enjoy brunch. Either way, your taste buds will thank you.
Eat it: 11a-2p
**Please note: The festival has been postponed due to rain. The festival will take place on the June 2nd.
Grolier Poetry Book Shop is celebrating their 90th Anniversary (yes, 90th!) on Saturday and you’re invited! Head over to Plympton Street in Harvard Square on Saturday for poetry, music, dramatic readings and dance from noon to 8p.
Fun fact: Did you know that Grolier Poetry Book Shop is the oldest ALL poetry bookshop in the nation? We’re proud to claim this true icon!

Celebrate it: Noon-8p
SEE & DO
One of the many reasons we love Cambridge (and trust us, there are many!) is because of our unique squares. Every square has a different vibe, complete with its own personality that contributes to the heartbeat of our city. This Sunday, head over to Inman Square for the Inman Eats and Crafts to see exactly why we’ve fallen head-over-heels in love with the square.
You’ll dine on culinary treats and casual eats from Inman Square restaurants, shop at the Handmade Marketplace hosted and inspired by Gather Here Stitch Lounge, enjoy local brews from Cambridge Brewing Co. and Lamplighter, and dance along to local music. Need we say any more?
