Weekend Guide: March 2-5
Spend the weekend in Cambridge with our top four must-see events.
One of the many reasons we love Cambridge is the opportunity to always learn something new (from world-class educators that is), all without ever having to leave our city. This Thursday evening, attend a lecture at the Harvard Museum of Natural History to discuss cell-to-cell communication in bacteria with Bonnie Bassler, professor and chair of molecular biology at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Investigator and Squibb professor in molecular biology at Princeton University. We're pretty sure you are bound to learn something new and exciting!

This Saturday, the MIT Museum located in the busy and eclectic Central Square will be all about girl power at their special event Girls Day. Girls Day will celebrate the women who, as Beyonce would say, “Run the World”—the science world that is.
This year’s theme, March Math Madness, will explore the many ways that we use math with short talks and activities with students and professors from the MIT Math Department. After you calculated a few math problems, find your algo-rhythm through choreography with SHINE and a math skills game during an Olympiad.
Although this event celebrates girls, all are welcome to join the fun.

There’s no better way to celebrate The Year of the Rooster than with a party and parade in Harvard Square. This free, family friendly event begins at 12:30p in Winthrop Park with a colorful lion dance before the grand parade.
After the dance, join the crew as they parade down Massachusetts Ave, where the celebration continues at the iconic Hong Kong Restaurant. Kids and adults alike can enjoy arts and crafts on the second floor of the Hong Kong, and performances and prizes on the third floor.
Celebrate it: 12:30p-3:30p
