Weekend Guide: August 17-21
Spend the weekend in Cambridge with our top five events.
If you’re looking for a fun way to exercise (and yes, that does actually exist), look no further than Harvard’s Science Center Plaza.
Every Wednesday evening from now until the end of October, participate in free, hour-long outdoor Zumba classes. You’ll have so much fun dancing, you’ll forget you’re actually working out!

You won’t want to miss out on one of the Museum of Science’s temporary exhibit, Spiders Alive! this weekend. Don’t be frightened as you examine their anatomy, learn about evolutionary history, see signature traits through live creatures, and see how these bugs affect the ecosystem--all without ever having to go on the web.

The summer has been pretty hot so far, but it’s about to get a lot hotter with this next event. Head on over to Central Square’s The Dance Complex for their annual Summer Sizzle Dance Festival. This weekend we suggest attending the Dance Complex’s Faculty & Friends Summer Concert on August 19th, where you’ll see every type of dance from tap to hip-hop. If you feel inspired by the performances, which we know you will, you’ll definitely want to check out the Dance Complex’s Rummage Sale on the 21st. Fill your dance bag with props and costumes!

Join Mount Auburn Cemetery this Sunday afternoon to explore their greenhouses and surrounding gardens at the peak of their beauty. The tour will be lead by Kelly Sullivan, Mount Auburn’s Greenhouse Horticulturist & Plant Health Care Specialist. She’ll expertly guide you through the tour with useful tips and tricks.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS...
The American Repertory Theater’s Donkey Show will celebrate their 7th birthday next Saturday and you’re invited! A usual evening at the Donkey Show is already filled with disco dancing and glitter so we can only imagine how they’ll celebrate their 7th birthday.
We recommend purchasing a ticket A.S.A.P because they’re bound to sell out quickly.
If you haven’t seen the Donkey Show at the Oberon yet this summer, this is the perfect opportunity! Once you step through Oberon’s doors, you’ll be whisked away from the red brick buildings of Harvard Square and transported to the ultimate disco experience. The Donkey Show is essentially the disco version of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, complete with a disco ball, glitter, and fairies.
