Valentine’s Day Date Guide
With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, the question looming over everyone’s minds seems to be, “What do I do for Valentine’s Day?”
That’s where we come in. Whether you are single, planning to celebrate with family and friends, are going on your first date, or are madly in love, we have the perfect date for you in Cambridge. There is a lot of love to celebrate here with our one true love, Cambridge:

Our Valentine’s Day Date Guide isn’t just for couples, it’s a guide for all the people you love most in this world. And who do you love more than your gal pals? For the perfect “Galentine’s Day,” we suggest meeting your closest friends at Cuchi Cuchi in Central Square.
Once you enter Cuchi Cuchi’s doors, you’ll feel as if you stepped back into Old Hollywood making it the perfect pick for dinner and drinks with your besties. Waitresses glide around the room, dressed in boa feathers and glitzy costume jewelry, expertly delivering pretty cocktails (we suggest ordering the "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" with mint, jalapeño, and pomegranate) and small plates so delicious, you’ll want to order them all. The international small plates menu is meant to be shared and devoured with friends, so don't be shy! Cuchi Cuchi is also the only restaurant in town that offers Tarot Card readings as you dine -- offering a chance to peek into your future while being surrounded by your favorite friends.
It goes without saying that you’ll definitely want to make sure that you save room for dessert, especially at Cuchi Cuchi -- we’re eyeing the Tiramisu with Savoiardi Fingers, mascarpone cheese, and espresso. After all, Valentine’s Day isn’t complete without something sweet.

First dates can be a little awkward, but they don’t have to be, especially if chocolate is involved. Take your sweetheart to the Museum of Science in East Cambridge to see one of their new temporary exhibits, Chocolate: The Exhibit.
You and your date will learn about the origins of this crave-worthy treat, which is sure to help the conversation in case it starts to lag. Plus, after you're done learning about all things chocolate, there are tons of thought-provoking exhibits to explore throughout the museum. We have a feeling that a visit to a Chocolate exhibit will definitely get you a second date.
Now that things are getting serious, it’s time to impress your flame this Valentine’s Day (no pressure), and what’s more quintessential than dinner and a movie? Especially a movie theater as classic as this one...
Out of all the movie theaters, in all of the towns, Harvard Square’s iconic and beloved movie theater, the Brattle Theatre will be showing the ultimate romance movie, Casablanca on February 14th and 15th.
Before the movie begins, we suggest starting the night off at one of the Harvard Square’s world-class restaurants, Alden & Harlow, which just happens to be conveniently located right above the Brattle Theatre. Named one of the best restaurants in the world, anything that comes out of Chef and Owner, Michael Scelfo’s kitchen is mouth-watering and guaranteed to wow your dining companion.
If you and your date have already been to Alden & Harlow and are looking to try something new, we suggest Harvard Square’s newest culinary destination, Benedetto in the Charles Hotel. At Benedetto, you’ll travel to irresistible regions of Italy all without ever having to leave Cambridge and still make it to the Brattle Theatre in time to see Casablanca.

This Valentine’s Day, go big! Treat your one, true love like royalty at the Royal Sonesta Hotel's special Valentine’s Day event, Love Royally. You and your date will start the night with sips from La Marca Prosecco before you dine on a decadent four-course meal (hello, mushroom crusted filet, white truffle risotto and a chocolate tasting for two, worthy of royalty) overlooking the sparkling and very romantic, Charles River and Boston skyline.
To make the night even more romantic, Boston’s favorite crooner, Rich DiMare and his jazz band will serenade you all night long. The best part about this evening, besides the delicious dinner and entertainment? You don’t have to go home! Spend the night at the hotel and enjoy unparalleled views, chef’s choice of nightcap waiting in your room, and complimentary parking. You can thank us later.
Sometimes the best kind of dates are cozy, intimate nights spent at home, especially if you’re always out and about. If you don’t necessarily want to head out to a restaurant on Valentine’s Day, stop by Cardullo’s Gourmet Shoppe in Harvard Square for everything, and we mean everything, that you’ll need to create the perfect romantic date at home.
Let’s face it, a home-cooked meal is always the way to someone’s heart. We aren’t exaggerating, when we say that Cardullo’s has everything you’ll need from the cheese course to pasta, olive oils, sauces and spreads, chocolate, pastries, and even specialty beer and wine.

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about significant others, it’s about celebrating all the people in your life that you love. After all, what’s better than brunch with your besties or those who matter most to you? For the perfect brunch spot, that everyone is bound to fall head over heels in love with, we suggest the Friendly Toast in Kendall Square. What’s not to love about blueberry pancakes and french toast?
You can’t help but feel happy at the Friendly Toast- everything from the bright, retro decor to the huge list of eggs benedicts (order the Babe Benny and you won’t be sorry), and their full menu of brunch cocktails makes for the perfect recipe for a delicious brunch.
Insider Tip: Breakfast is served all day at the Friendly Toast, so if you have a friend who loves their “beauty sleep,” you don’t have to stress about arriving there before noon.
Everyone deserves to feel loved on Valentine’s Day and that includes your little ones. For a fun Valentine’s Day outing that is sure to create unforgettable memories, bundle up your gang, grab your ice skates (or rent them there) and head over to the Community Ice Skating Rink at Kendall Square. After you’ve skated under twinkle lights and practiced your triple lutz, head over to the snack stand for a hot chocolate that will warm both your hands and soul.
The rink is conveniently located just a five-minute walk away from the Kendall Square T stop, is open every day during the winter and closes at 9p on Friday and Saturday night. Who knows? You may just begin a new Valentine’s Day tradition!

Last, but not least, don't forget to treat yourself this Valentine's Day. You know all those times that you walk into Tatte Bakery & Cafe and you avert your eyes from the beautiful, glowing pastry case?...This weekend, don’t! Order that coconut meringue that is as big as your head -- those green, crunchy salads will still be there the next time you visit. Plus it is Valentine’s Day, which means that calories don’t count, so treat yourself! You know we’ll be doing the same thing.
Indulge in buttery and flakey croissants and perfectly petite fruit tarts, while sipping on a very appropriate Cherry Drop -- cold brew coffee with cacao nib milk and shaken with cherry chocolate syrup, topped with a chocolate-covered cherry. Your sweet tooth will be satisfied and we can pretty much guarantee that you will take more Insta-worthy pictures that you’ll care to admit.
