Everything you need to know about MIT’s Friday After Thanksgiving Event

After you’ve indulged on turkey and mashed potatoes, head over to the MIT Museum’s 21st Annual Friday After Thanksgiving Chain Reaction event (otherwise known as F.A.T) on Friday, November 23rd from 1-4p. You'll forget all about your day-after-turkey sandwich once you see exactly what's going on in Cambridge. You can't find a more quintessentially Cambridge event than this one.

WHAT

Newcomers and past participants are invited to link their chain reaction devices together to create one enormous chain that could only happen at MIT. With over 1,500 people expected to attend, you don’t want to miss out on this one of a kind experience perfect for your entire family.

WHO

Both spectators and participants of all ages are welcome to attend the F.A.T. Once participants have registered and read over the guidelines, they can begin engineering their contraptions. From Girl Scout troops to engineers, everyone is encouraged to attend this team building event and learn a little more about chain reactions. If you aren't participating in the event, you're welcome too! Spectators can join in several activities while they wait to cheer on the mesmerizing chain reaction.

WHERE

This epic chain reaction all takes place at MIT's Rockwell Cage. The Rockwell Cage is located at the Zesiger Athletics Complex at 106 Vassar Street. Start at the southern corner of Mass Ave, head west on Vassar and you’ll pass two buildings where you’ll find a pathway that brings you to the Zesiger entrance. Feel free to park at the West Garage off of Vassar Street. Parking is available at MIT's Albany Street Garage for $9 by credit card payment.

WHEN

The 21st Annual Friday After Thanksgiving Chain Reaction Event will take place on Friday, November 23 from 1-4p.
