The Living Dead in Ancient Egypt
This hybrid talk on Wednesday, Oct. 11 builds on the research found in Dr. Troche’s first book "Death, Power, and Apotheosis in Ancient Egypt" and invites audiences to learn about the spectrum of deceased actors in ancient Egypt. In particular, Dr. Troche will delve into the process by which some of these dead were deified and the ramifications of this deification, such as challenging royal authority during the Pyramid Age. This lecture is free and open to the public. Registration is required for both in-person and online attendance. Free event parking is available at the 52 Oxford Street Garage. This event is presented by Harvard Museum of the Ancient Near East and Harvard Museums of Science & Culture.
