The Cambridge Carnival Jamboree

The Cambridge Carnival Jamboree is a celebration for National Caribbean American Heritage Month and will be held in collaboration with the City of Cambridge’s Mayor’s office on the City Hall Lawn on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. Cambridge Carnival International is the oldest Caribbean organization in Cambridge. The Carnival Jamboree event will celebrate the contributions of Caribbean residents of Cambridge and recognize the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean diaspora. The event is free to the public and a rain date of July 8, 2021 is scheduled.

There will be a Haitian food truck; crafting activities for kids; information on the history of Carnival; a dance performance by Cambridge group Soca Fusion; a live DJ, board member DJ Ohh of Whistle and Bell Sound System; plus a costume display to be presented at City Hall or Cambridge Public Library. Mayor Siddiqui and City Manager Louie DePasquale will greet the audience with messages to the Caribbean community.

5:40-5:50 p.m.: History of Caribbean in Boston and history of Carnival by Lynette Leveau Saxe

5:50-6:05 p.m.: Soca Fusion

6:05-6:15 p.m.: DJ Ohh

6:15-6:30 p.m.: Tempo International Steel Pan ft. Sista Dee

6:30-6:40 p.m.: Caribbean trivia

6:40-7:00 p.m.: Soca-cize dance contest

7:00-7:15 p.m.: DJ Nomadik

7:15-7:30 p.m.: Tempo International Steel Pan ft. Sista Dee

7:30-8:00 p.m.: DJ Ohh Jam Finale
