Spotlight Tour: Sightseeing

Spotlight Tour: Sightseeing

On Sunday, Feb. 11's tour, Soleil Saint-Cyr will explore urban landscapes and how interactions between public and private spaces shape people’s experiences. The stops on the tour include "Four Stops" (2007), a large acrylic painting by Nina Chanel Abney; a tile panel with flowers and serrated leaves (c. 1570), an architectural element from Ottoman Turkey; and Head of an Oba, a sculpture from 1525–75 that belongs to the group of “Benin Bronzes,” which were taken from Benin City as part of the British Punitive Expedition of 1897.

Spotlight Tours offer a chance to explore the collections of Harvard Art Museums through the eyes of a Harvard student. Free and open to the public, these tours start outside the museum shop on Saturdays and Sundays at 11am and 2pm. Drop in and join the conversation! Find out what Student Guides are up to anytime on Instagram, @harvardarthappens. Please check in with museum staff at the Admissions desk in Calderwood Courtyard to request to join the tour. Tours are limited to 18 people and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not required.
