Norma Jean Calderwood Lecture: Artist Talk by Mohamad Hafez

Focusing on the theme of preserving memory and loss, Syrian American artist and architect Mohamad Hafez will speak about his profession and artistic career in light of changing political conditions—both in the United States and in the Middle East—over the last two decades on Wednesday, Apr. 17. Free admission, but seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The lecture will take place in Menschel Hall in the Lower Level. Doors to the hall will open for seating at 5:30pm. Limited complimentary parking is available in the Broadway Garage at 7 Felton Street.

Harvard Art Museums are offering three other programs related to this lecture: a close-looking experience in the Art Study Center on Thursday, Apr. 18 (offered twice); a Materials Lab Workshop with the artist, also on April 18; and an off-site walking tour of Boston’s Little Syria on Friday, Apr. 19.
