Gallery Talk: Wolf Vostell’s Treblinka
Join curatorial fellow Peter Murphy Wednesday, Feb. 28 for a closer look at Wolf Vostell’s "Treblinka," a screenprint on paper that examines the circulation of photographs from Nazi death camps in film, television and books. By adding vibrant colors to a historical image of women and children moments before their murder, Vostell challenges viewers to consider what it means when images of horrific tragedy become a form of popular media. Gallery talks are limited to 18 people and registration is required. Registration opens at 10am the day of the talk. Please meet in the Calderwood Courtyard, in front of the digital screens between the shop and the admissions desk. This talk is offered in conjunction with the exhibition "Wolf Vostell: Dé-coll/age Is Your Life," on display through Sunday, May 5.
