Gallery Talk: Wolf Vostell’s Salad

Gallery Talk: Wolf Vostell’s Salad

In 1970, Wolf Vostell and numerous participants performed a “happening” (titled "Salad") in a train car between Cologne and Aachen, Germany. Each of the 23 artworks that remained after the event comprises a crate with decomposed lettuce and a box containing extensive documentation. These objects remind all to remain vigilant to the attritional violence in natural, social, and political environments. This talk, led by Lynette Roth on Saturday, Apr. 13, is offered in conjunction with the exhibition "Wolf Vostell: Dé-coll/age Is Your Life." Gallery talks are limited to 18 people. Registration is required and opens at 10am the day of the talk. Please meet in the Calderwood Courtyard, in front of the digital screens between the shop and the admissions desk.
