Faculty Artist Series: CONNECTION

Saturday, May 6, New School of Music hosts an evening of piano and oboe repertoire exploring the connections between music from around the world. The free concert program includes one of the most famous and beautiful oboe chamber music pieces, “Three Romances for Oboe and Piano, Op. 94” by Robert Schumann. The program also features Sachiko Murata’s original composition “Sorrow Songs” which was originally written for orchestra and was inspired by the musical score of a spiritual in the book “The Souls of Black Folk” by W.E.B. Du Bois.
