Exploring Paper Art & Collage With Hollie Chastain
This workshop series beginning Wednesday, Apr. 6 will teach useful information for those new to collage, new to creative endeavors or those who want to learn new techniques and perspectives. Mixed media can be a vast and sometimes overwhelming endeavor when diving in for the first time. The sessions will work through different methods and applications of collage and mixed media, incorporating paper weaving, embroidery, paint and others with a focus on composition and choosing “what stays and what goes” when the options are limitless. Most of the time will be spent experimenting and gathering skills, inspiration plus techniques to carry forth into future paper art and collage practice, but participants should also end the class with a few finished pieces.
Registration is $180 for CAA members and $200 for general admission. Registrants are required to acquire and/or purchase their own materials for the workshop. The class will meet for five consecutive Wednesdays via Zoom:
