Cambridge Plays at Harvard: Harvard Jazz Combo Initiative

Celebrate National Jazz Appreciation Month with a lunchtime performance by Harvard Jazz Combo Initiative. The Jazz Combo Initiative (JCI) performance will feature the combo "Out of Time," which will present a swinging program of classic jazz standards. This combo is one of six JCI ensembles that have been meeting weekly throughout the semester. The combo members are: Mai Nguyen '24 (vocals and flute), Nico Vallenas '23 (tenor sax), Willaim Kissinger '25 (piano), Ben Hogewood '23 (guitar) and Jack Meyer '25 (drums). They are joined by Leo Weisskoff '23 (bass), of New England Conservatory, The JCI program is directed by Don Braden '85.

Cambridge Plays offers free music, dance, yoga and other activities to watch or join in. From April to the end of June, in neighborhoods across Cambridge, enjoy hip-hop, jazz, high-energy bhangra dancing from India or pop-up dance parties that arrive via DJs pedaling a trike music cart. Events are open to all plus fun for all ages and abilities.
