Become a Children's Book Author: Self-Publishing 101

Join Rola Languages alongside author Edward Lee Rocha for a two day writing workshop from Saturday, Nov 20-Sunday, Nov. 21. Ed and the Rola Languages team will share their knowledge and skills on all things book writing plus self-publishing. This intensive workshop guides participants through the whole process from start to finish: brainstorming, storyboarding, writing, finding an illustrator, book formatting plus more! Upon completion of the workshop, participants will have written a story, created a storyboard, spoken with illustrators, created a budget, development a marketing plan and had their book reviewed.

Saturday will cover introductions, an ice breaker activity, pre-writing, collaborative brainstorming as well as writing time and feedback. Sunday's itinerary includes storyboarding, tips for finding an illustrator, formatting, the publishing process as well as collaborative working time to share work plus receive feedback from peers and Rola Staff. Edward Lee Rocha is the author of multiple bilingual children’s books and foreign language learning textbooks. Rocha's most recent novel was inspired by his hardworking and loving parents. He created the “La Familia Rocha” series in their honor to tell the story of how they met and got married in their hometown of Cuero, Texas.
