Art Study Center Seminar: Jean (Hans) Arp’s Sculptural Process
Join curatorial fellow Clemens Ottenhausen on Friday, Aug. 25 to examine 11 plaster casts and a bronze by Jean (Hans) Arp to pinpoint how he developed and finished his three-dimensional works. Plaster casts and models are often integral to an artist’s production of sculpture, but the ways Arp incorporated them into his process sheds light on his concept of art. These works are recent acquisitions to the museums’ collections. Admission is free, but registration is required. Registration opens online on Tuesday, Aug. 15. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the program to allow sufficient time to sign in at the Art Study Center reception desk (Level 4), and be prepared to present a photo ID. All coats and bags must be placed in a locker prior to entering the study room.
