Abstract Landscape Painting with Amanda Hawkins

This virtual workshop on Thursday, Aug. 5 explores abstraction, color and mark through the lens of landscape painting. A series of sequential exercises will help students loosen up, build non-conventional palettes, abandon the local colors of the landscape plus identify the relationship between value and hue. This workshop is meant to provide access to the vocabulary of abstraction for all-level artists. Attendees can expect to complete a value sketch, several color studies on paper as well as other preparatory work during this session. Admission is $90 for CAA members and $110 for non-members.
